A resolution to this effect was passed at a meeting of current and former MLAs. The meeting was presided over by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Arvinder Singh Lovely.
"The meeting thanked Soniaji and Rahulji for their vigorous campaigning and expressed full confidence in their leadership," DPCC chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma said.
Sharma said the meeting also decided not to support the Aam Aadmi Party to form the government again.
After its spectacular performance in the Assembly polls, the AAP drew a blank in the Lok Sabha polls in Delhi though its candidates came second in all the seven constituencies.
The AAP last month had expressed interest in forming the government again. However, Congress had ruled out supporting it again.
The AAP had won 28 seats in its debut Assembly elections in December last year and had later formed the government with outside support from the Congress's eight MLAs.
The Kejriwal-led government resigned after the party's pet project - the Jan Lokpal Bill - could not be passed due to opposition from the BJP and the Congress.
This, however, apparently did not go down well with the people of Delhi and led to the party's lacklustre performance in the Lok Sabha polls.
BJP's strength in the Assembly had come down to 28 after three of its MLAs -- Harsh Vardhan, Pervesh Verma and Ramesh Bidhuri -- resigned as MLAs following their election to the Lok Sabha.
