A boy was killed when a wall in Tilak Nagar Keshav Mandi, near metro station collapsed. Two men were also injured.
The three municipal bodies reported 36 complaints of waterlogging, 18 of fallen trees and six complaints of collapse of building structures in the city.
In the last 24 hours, Delhi has received its highest rainfall so far this season. The total rainfall recorded this morning till 8.30 AM was 59.9 mm, while between 8.30 AM and 5.30 PM, 2.8 mm of rain was recorded. On August 21, the city received 54.4 mm rains, the highest so far.
The early morning showers led to chaos in the city with people wading through knee-deep water in several areas. Pothholed roads and waterlogging, which in some cases rose upto four feet, slowed down vehicular movement causing inconvenience to office goers.
With the city witnessing rains almost everyday for over a weeek, the temperature has dipped below normal.
Today, the maximum was recorded at 31.2 degree Celsius while minimum was 23.6 deg C, both three degrees below normal, The MeT department said, adding the humidity level hovered between 81 per cent and 100 per cent. MORE
