Delhi govt begins penalty proceeding against Sub-Registrar

Delhi government today started penalty proceeding against a Sub-Registrar after an inquiry found him guilty of corruption in registration of sale deed.
According to a senior government officer, an inquiry was conducted by Delhi Government after receiving a complaint of corruption in registration of sales deed.
During the probe it was found that the Sub-Registrar (Asaf Ali Road), Raj Kumar, registered a sale deed of a property in violation of the provisions of registration Act, 1908.
The Delhi government took a serious view of the matter and the Sub-registrar has been placed under suspicion.
Official claims that major penalty proceeding under CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965 is also being initiated against him.
