Delhi govt cancels registration of 32 dealers

Delhi government has cancelled registration certificates of 32 dealers for not complying with the provision of DVAT Act 2004.
"We have cancelled the registration certificate of 32 bogus/high risk dealers with bogus declared turnover of Rs 644.39 crore in 2013-14 and disallowed ITC of Rs.6.25 lakhs during the week ending 29-08-2014," Sanjiv Khirwar, commissioner (Trade & Taxes), said.
Khirwar said that VAT inspectors have been directed to detect the chain of sale of such dealers and take strict action as per the provision of DVAT Act 2004.
"System Branch of the Department has enhanced the storage capacity of servers, which will facilitate the dealers to access the departmental site in a hassle-free manner. It has organized training programme for Bar Members for furnishing the Reconciliation Return of Central sales in Form 9.
Form 9 is a reconciliation returns in which dealers submits details of statutory form/documents received in lieu of inter-state sales/stock transfer at concessional rates. Dealer has to file the information on line in the form giving details of forms received and pending," he said.
According to the department, enforcement - II wing has intensified enforcement activities in last week to enforce the compliance of DVAT Act 2005. The focus of the enforcement activities was on moving goods vehicles; transporters who are in the business of transportation of goods; goods transported through Indian railways.
"54 moving goods vehicles containing items such as purchun, motor vehicle spare parts, readymade garments etc. have been detained from various roads of Delhi out of which 6 vehicles, which were carrying turmeric from Erode Tamilnadu, were detained from surroundings of Kishan Ganj Railways Station area. 5 godowns of transporters have been sealed by the Enforcement - II branch," he added.
