Delhi govt enhances monthly remuneration of Urdu educators

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today announced enhancing monthly remuneration of Urdu educators from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000.
The Urdu educators are employed with Urdu Academy. They work part-time in Urdu teaching centres run by the acedemy.
"The government has decided to enhance remuneration of Urdu educators. Henceforth, they woould get honorarium of Rs 2,000 per month instead of Rs 1,500," Dikshit said, speaking at a function oranised by the Urdu Academy.
Describing Urdu as a symbol of the country's composite culture, she said Delhi government has been taking a number of steps to promote the language in the city.
Last year, the government had hiked the salary of Uru teachers working in government schools from Rs 13,000 to Rs 24,000 per month.
At the function, Dikshit presented cash award of Rs 1,500 each to 46 Urdu educators. She also presented cash prize of Rs 500 each to 90 students studying in Urdu language centres.
