Delhi Mango Festival thrown open to public

If you want to relish delicious varieties of mangoes, then walk into the Delhi Mango Festival which was thrown open today at the Dilli Haat in Pitampura.
Mango growers from across the country have lined up hundreds of varities which include Dussehri, Langra, Chausa, Rataul, Husnara, Ramkela, Alphonso, Kesar, Safeda, Fazli, Tota Pari, Vanraj, Sirki, Suwarn, Jahangir, Neelashwari, Royal SP, Raddy Pasand, Himasagar.
Some of the varieties have been given unique names such as Kensington, Mallika, Amrapali, Neelam, Bangan Palli, Bombay Green and Aishwarya.
The 25th Mango Festival has ben organised by Delhi Tourism in association with Delhi government.
The Festival was inaugurated by Delhi Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami.
A large number of people thronged the Dilli Haat in Pitampura in West Delhi to witness the mangoes.
"I was surprised to see that some of the mangoes are as small as a grape and some are as big as a papaya," said Abhijit Sinha who visited the Dilli Haat.
Delhi Tourism has been hosting the Mango Festival since 1988.
