Heavy task force of SGPC (Shriomani Gurdwara Pharbandhak Committee) was deployed in the periphery of the Golden Temple to provide sense of security in the minds of the visiting devotees.
According to SGPC the significance of Diwali festival manager of the Golden Temple said that on the same day in 1620, sixth Sikh Guru Hargobind Sahib was released by the Mughal emperor Jahangir from the Gwalior fort alongwith the 52 other kings.
Then Jahangir was advised by astrologers to release the Guru to get rid of his miseries.
