Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju in a written reply to the Lok Sabha said there have been 39 instances of violation of safety procedures by airlines which have come to the notice of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Enforcement actions such as suspension and warning were taken against the individuals or airline post holders in these cases, he added.
Out of the 39 instances, 23 pertained to national carrier Air India and Jet group figured in 10 cases -- six with regard to Jet Airways and four related to Jet Lite.
In 2014, there were 275 cases of safety norms violations involving eight carriers.
DGCA conducts regulated audit of scheduled airlines.
"During the last three years and current year, DGCA has conducted 14 regulatory/safety audits on scheduled airlines.
"The observation/deficiencies observed during the audit were forwarded to the concerned operator for compliance. The Action Taken Report were reviewed by DGCA and the observations were closed after being satisfied on the compliance," Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma said in a separate written reply.
To prevent civilian aircraft and helicopter accidents, DGCA is taking various measures including regular analysis of "accident/incident" and based on the conclusions, safety circulars are issued.
DGCA data showed that there was an increase in number of wildlife strike incidents in 2013 compared to 2012.
"However, there has been a decreasing trend in the number of wildlife strike incidents in the year 2014 as compared to year 2013," he noted.
So far this year till February 28, there have been 18 cases of bird strikes in different airports across the country.
