Dhanak, Budhia Singh to be screened at SIFFCY

Globally applauded Indian movies such as "Dhanak", "Budhia Singh- Born to Run" will be screened at the second edition of Smile International Film Festival for Children and Youth (SIFFCY).
The festival, which begins from December 5, has announced it's official selection of 100 films amongst which 22 will be in the International Competition section.
Doing away with traditional red carpet, the festival will be using Yellow Carpet for special screening of selected great films.
The festival's advisory board consists of big directors like Nagesh Kukunoor, Hansal Mehta, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Resul Pookutty, Jahnu Barua and Santosh Sivan.
Touted as the only children's film festival in India, the event will offer a potpourri of features, short-movies, documentaries and films made by children.

The festival received more than 2000 films entries from around 50 countries. In the light of best movies that were sent, the jury selected best 22 films.

The jury panel boasts of names like Sannette Naeye, Festival Director of Cinekid-Netherlands - widely acclaimed as World's biggest children film festival - with Fusun Eriksen, Advisor-Danish Cultural Institute among others.
Movies titled "Chidiya", "Fanny's Joy", "Hang in There Kids! and "The Pitch" will be shown in features film category while "Famous in Ahemdabad", "Jonas and the Sea" and "We Make Images" will be a part of non-feature category.
Both the categories consists of nine films each.

The festival serves as a special platform to showcase value-based films ensuring a meaningful cinema for children.
Having produced close to 60 short films and documentaries, Smile Foundation had also backed national award-winning feature film titled "I am Kalam".
"We have handpicked 100 movies and selected those which have the supreme finesse of their art, the most compelling storytelling and highly inspiring depiction of world issues.
Many of these films have already traveled to prestigious international festivals and have numerous nomination to their credit," Jitendra Mishra, festival director of SIFFCY said.
The week-long festival, ending on December 11, will be taking place at Siri Fort Auditorium here.
