DICV rolls out Fuso trucks for left-hand drive export markets

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles today said it has rolled out Left-Hand Drive Fuso trucks for the export markets from the company's Oragadam manufacturing facility near Chennai.
The company, which is a wholly-owned unit of Daimler AG and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, said the truck range -- Fuso FJ would be first launched in markets like, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Egypt and in the mid-term will be rolled out in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
"With this, Daimler Trucks Asia strengthens its portfolio of new Fuso trucks for the non-Asian markets as well, adding thrust to its export strategy," Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) said in a statement.

Further, the company will also start manufacturing medium- duty Fuso LHD vehicles subsequently later this year to address the wider market, it added.
DICV is already exporting right hand drive Fuso trucks to various markets, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Brunei.
The company's Oragadum facility, which is spread over 400 acres, has come with an investment of Rs 4,400 crore.
