Digvijay attacks Modi over food security issue

Congress leader Digvijay Singh today took a dig at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for writing directly to the Prime Minister over the Food Security Bill and not raising the issue in his party forum.
"BJP and its ICON wants to deprive poor of Food Security in India, shows its true colour of being ANTI-POOR. Oppose all pro-poor initiatives.
"Modi doesn't trust BJP Parliamentary Party to raise right issues on Food Security Bill, writes directly to PM. No confidence against Sushma?," Singh commented on microblogging site Twitter.
His comments came a day after Modi wrote to the Prime Minister seeking a meeting of Chief Ministers on the food bill.

Strongly defending it, Prasad said. "It's a very welcome suggestion" as Modi had suggested improvements in the bill.
Reacting sharply to the barbs of Singh, BJP's Ravishankar Prasad said his party "condemns" the "low-level politics" by the Congress general secretary.

Prasad also took strong objection to a tweet by the Congress leader that suggested that BJP was instigating communal riots in non-BJP states.
"Digvijay Singh is known for making irresponsible statements. Hope that his party will clarify whether it was the party opinion or that of Singh. Hope Congress will definitely ask him," he said.
Singh had earlier tweeted in the morning "6 Communal Incidents in 2 months in Bihar, Communal Violence in Kishtwar, in Tonk Rajasthan. I had warned BJP shall target non-BJP States.
