Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today instructed officials for preparation to disburse additional compensation to victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
"The Deputy CM instructed the Secretary Revenue for preparation for disbursement of additional compensation to victims of 1984 riots," said a senior government officer.
While attending a meeting of Heads of Departments of Delhi Government and reviewing functioning of different departments, he asked them to speed up the work with regard to providing various public services to the people in a speedy and time bound manner.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Health and PWD Satyendar Jain and Chief Secretary KK Sharma.
Sisodia asked the Secretary Revenue and Divisional Commissioner not to ask for services of teachers from Education Department, other school staff and Technical Instructors from TTE for conducting National Population Registration (NPR).
Saying that "Education is more important to the Government than updation of NPR", he asked the Revenue Department to make alternative arrangement or to deploy Asha workers and Anganwadi workers or outsource the work.
He instructed the Environment Department to immediately issue the notification for environment compensation charge as per the order of the Supreme Court.
The Municipal Commissioners were directed by him to coordinate with toll operators for issue of directions to comply with Supreme Court for collection and process of the charges.
Sisodia asked all the HODs for preparedness for IITF and noted that many Departments are yet to finalise their display material in the Delhi Pavilion.
He asked the CEO, DJB to identify project under water supply, sewerage and septage within a month. DUSIB was instructed to prepare project for septage.
The Chief Secretary, Delhi and Chief Vigilance Officer of the State, K K Sharma instructed all HODs to observe the 'Vigilance Week' in their Departments, undertakings, and PSUs from October 26 to October 31.
Additional posts will be sanctioned for Vigilance Department as per their requirement and also in the Department where these are needed, he said.
