The decisions were taken at the 117th Board Meeting of DJB which was held on October 30.
During the meeting, the Board discussed and passed a number of key projects and schemes, aimed at improving the water and waste-water infrastructure in the city.
The board approved the installation of 50 RO Plants and hundreds of WDMs in various parts of Delhi, an official statement said today.
"The Board also approved various Welfare schemes for its employees. DJB is making sustained efforts to strengthen its water and wastewater infrastructure by rehabilitation and augmentation of its existing resources," the statement said.
The Board approved the work of providing Internal and Peripheral Sewer Lines of varying diameters in the Malviya Nagar Group of Colonies under the command of the Okhla Wastewater Treatment Plant at an estimated total cost of Rs 12.04 crore.
The Board also accorded approval to the work of providing and laying sewer lines in Vijay Enclave, Mahaveer Vihar, Bengali Colony and Sadh Nagar Colony in Palam Constituency at an estimated total cost of Rs 38.20 crore and Rs 14.39 crore respectively.
It also gave its assent to the proposal of providing and laying Sewer lines in Dharampura Group of Colonies in Dharampura Extension, Roshan Garden etc. In Najafgarh Constituency at an estimated cost of Rs 29.90 crore.
"The Board is committed to add more areas of the city to its wastewater network. In line with its commitment, the Board gave its assent to the construction of a new 80 MGD Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) at Ring Road, Maharani Bagh at a total cost of Rs 108.39 crores," the statement added.
The meeting was chaired by Rajendra Kumar, Secretary, Urban Development Department, Delhi and Director (Local Bodies), Durga Shanker Mishra, Addl. Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, Vijay Kumar, CEO, DJB, Mira Aggarwal among others.
In the meeting, the board also decided to approve the replacement of the 1500 mm diameter South Delhi main and the 1,000 mm diameter Palam main in left out portions from Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant to Deer Park and Palam Reservoir.
