Obama is a self-confessed fan of the show and producers David Benioff and D B Weiss had even sent him advance episodes of season six.
The "Song of Ice and Fire" series writer was asked by a commenter on his blog about his "dream guest/cameo".
"Well, Barack Obama would be pretty exciting," Martin said.
"And actually, he IS a fan of the show," he added.
Benioff and Weiss revealed last year that they gave the president early access to season six of the show.
The season seven of the show will air in India on Star World and Star World Premier HD.
