The body of Manohar Singh (45), was recovered today after which the family members demonstrated in front of the transport department office demanding action against the squad members and compensation to the deceased family, SHO Pratapnagar Chandra Purohit said.
Last night, the truck was stopped by the RTO squad near Debari bridge here and the driver was asked to give penalty for overloading when he refused, the squad members allegedly thrashed him.
The driver managed to ran away and jumped from the bridge, the SHO said, adding the body was spotted in the morning today.
