Drugs worth Rs 18 lakh seized; one held

A man was today arrested from the city for allegedly possessing three kg drugs worth around Rs 18 lakh in the domestic market.
The accused, identified as Iqbal Qasim, hails from Junagadh.
"Qasim was today nabbed by the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) team for possessing three kg of charas from Geeta mandir area of the city," Zonal Director of NCB, Hariom Gandhi, told PTI.
The market price of the seized stock is around Rs 18 lakh in the domestic market, he said.
Qasim was held while he was getting down from a bus coming from Ajmer town of Rajasthan, Gandhi said.

"During the preliminary probe, the accused revealed that he brought the prohibited substance from Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
Qasim was involved in the sale of illegal drugs and also worked as a carrier of the prohibited substances, Gandhi said.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he said.
