Dry weather in most parts of HP as monsoon remains subdued

Dry weather prevailed in most parts of Himachal Pradesh as monsoons remained subdued, causing marginal rise in day temperatures.
Barring Jubbar Hatti, Dharamsala, Mashobra and Nauni which received 21 mm, 18 mm, 6 mmand 4 mm of rainfall, the weather remained dry in the state, increasing the monsoon rains deficit from June 1 to July 10 to 10 per cent.
The lower hills of the state reeled under sultry heat and Una and Bhuntar were hottest in region with maximum temperatures at 35.2 degrees Celsius, while Sundernagar recorded a high of 33.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Solan 29.3 degrees Celsius, Nahan 29 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 28.8 degrees Celsius, Shimla 26.3 degrees Celsius and Kalpa 25 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature remained steady and Manali was coldest in the region with a low of 14 degrees Celsius, followed by Kalpa 14.6 degrees Celsius, Keylong 14.5 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 16.2 degrees Celsius, Shimla 16.4 degrees Celsius, Solan 20.2 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 22 degrees Celsius, Nahan 22.2 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 23.1 degrees Celsius and Una 26.2 degrees Celsius.
The sky remained heavily overcast and sun played hide and seek, making people sweat in lower and mid hills during the day.
The local MeT office has predicted rains or thundershowers at many places in lower, mid and higher hills during next six days from tomorrow.
