"We have taken several measures like revision of guide curves as well as Damodar Valley Reservoir Regulatory Comission, bring Tenughat dam under control and implementing technology and systems for better reporting of data and desimination," DVC Chairman A W K Langstieh said here today.
For flood forecast, a new software has been installed which gives three days' rainwater inflow forecast.
While, for Maithon it has been raised from 495 to 500 feet.
Last year, parts of the West Bengal faced floods when monsoon was not evenly spread and about 37 lakh people in 12 districts were affected.
Langstieh apprised West Bengal Chief Secretary Basudeb Banerjee about the initiatives and assured full-cooperation from the company's end in flood-control management this monsoon.
He paid visit Maithon for prepradness several times during this season, officials said.
