Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Speaker Jomde Kena has sought intervention of the state government in the matter of inclusion of several Arunachalee villages in the proposed Missing Autonomous Council (MAC) in Assam.
Kena, who called on Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and Lok Sabha member Takam Sanjoy here yesterday, apprised them of inclusion of several villages of the state under the proposed MAC despite the Supreme Court's order to maintain status quo along the boundaries of the two states, an official press release said here today.
Kena had moved the state government in this regard earlier too, following which the then principal secretary (home) Tabom Bam had sent a letter to the Assam Home Commissioner, requesting him to set aside the order issued by the North Assam division commissioner, and to exclude Durpai, Chojo, Sogum, Pompek, Maji, Mingma, Ruti, Hime, Germe, Rate, Torajan, Siloni, Gagar, Jipu, Silli, Liche, Balisori, Kangku, Liapulia, Barojan, Adi Tako, Debi Detak, Dipa, Dimo and Pale villages, all under the territorial jurisdiction of Arunachal Pradesh, from the proposed MAC.
"But it is understood that no action has been taken by the Assam home commissioner to exclude the villages from the MAC list," Kena said.
