The 7-year-old girl was sexually assaulted a month back but the incident came to light last evening after her brother talked about it to his mother, police said.
The girl was allegedly raped when she was on her way to buy sweets along with her brother, they said.
According to the complaint, the accused stopped the children and gave the girl's brother money to buy chocolates, while he took the girl to a vacant plot and raped her.
When the brother came back, he found his sister crying and she shared her ordeal with him, police said.
The accused, an e-rickshaw driver, was arrested yesterday and it is being probed whether he had sexually assaulted other children as well, they added.
