Met office said chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms are:Lalitpur-7, Varanasi, Mahroni-6 each, Rai Bareli, Kunda, Churk, Karwi, Orai, Ghazipur-5 each, Jaunpur, Kanpur, Allahabad, Kakardharighat-4 each, Ghosi, Sultanpur, Unnao, Regoli, Mauranipur, Aonla, Jhansi, Bisauli, Badaun-3 each.
The forecast is for rain and thundershowers at few places in the state in the coming 24 hours.
Central Water Commission here said that major rivers Ganga, Sharda, Ghaghra and Rapti continued to flow above the danger mark at some places.
Ram Ganga was flowing near the red mark at Dabri (Shahjahanpur)and Sharda continued to flow above the danger mark at Palia Kalan.
Ghaghra continued to flow above the red mark at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki, Ayodhya and Turtipar in Ballia and Rapti which was flowing above the red mark at Balrampur was near the danger level at Bhinga (Shrawasti), Bansi, Regauli and Birdghat.
Burhi Rapti was near the red mark at Kakrahi in Siddhartnagar as was Kunhara at Uska Bazar in Siddhartnagar and Rohin at Trimohini ghat.
"Ganga is flowing 28 centimetres below the danger level as of now. But the administration remains at high alert because the sky is overcast with clouds since morning apprehending heavy rainfall."
Police and security personnel have been asked to remain prepared for any disaster.
Elaborating on the various relief measures the administration is undertaking in wake of flood situations, he said, "We have made adequate arrangements in advance to rescue the people near the river banks. They will be moved in relief camps put up by the administration."
