While eight vacancies arose due to retirement of sitting members, three other seats fell vacant after the MLCs were elected to the state assembly.
The polls will be held on March 2, for which the notification will be issued on February 12 and February 18 will be the last date of filing nominations. The scrutiny of papers will be held the next day.
Candidates can withdraw from the electoral battle by February 21. The counting will be held on March 2.
The bypoll to the Legislative Council was necessitated after Mohammad Ashraf Mir (Kashmir Province), Abdul Majeed Bhat (Kashmir Province) and Devender Singh Rana (Jammu Province) were elected to the Legislative Assembly held last year.
