After examining Vijaywargiya's reply about an issue related to the violation of the Model Code of Conduct, the Election Commission said that the minister's promise to construct an Industries Building in the city, on the occasion of Dusshera festival is a violation of the code, official sources said.
Similarly, Vijaywargiya's speech at a Rajput Samaj function on October 14 linking provisions of the Model Code with a religion appeared to be a deliberate attempt to make fun of the Code, according to the Election Commission.
The report had also included video clippings of the three events.
After the report, the Commission had issued a notice to Vijaywargiya on October 16, directing him to file his reply about the matter by October 18.
The Commission expressed its "deep displeasure" against Vijaywargiya for violating the Model Code of Conduct, after studying his reply, sources said.
