The stars announced the news via their respective social media account that they will host the awards show which this year will take place in Milan on October 25, reported Ace Showbiz.
"So happy to say I'm hosting the #MTVEMAs on 25th October! Cannot wait," Sheeran told his fans in an Instagram post.
Shortly after, Rose posted the forthcoming event's poster featuring her posing next to the British singer.
She wrote in the caption, "So excited to be hosting the MTV EMAS In Milan with Mr @edsheeran !!! See you there!!"
Sheeran's friend Taylor Swift leads the nominees with record-breaking nine nods including three for her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, "Bad Blood".
She's additionally up for Best Female, Best Pop and Best Live Act among others.
Other acts with multiple nominations are Sheeran himself, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, 5 Seconds of Summer, One Direction and more.
