East Delhi Mayor Harshdeep Malhotra along with Standing Committee Chairman Lata Gupta and Leader of House Ram Narayan Dubey today distributed appointment letters to these employees.
These 148 employees were recruited between 1990 and 1998 and they are being regularised w.E.F 2014. Before being regularised, they were working as daily wagers.
The Mayor said the EDMC is going through a financial crisis and regularising the 148 employees in this situation show the corporation.
He also said that next year 79 more employees would be regularised.
