Egypt's key youth group backs army call for demos

The youth group behind the wave of protests that led to the military's ouster of Egypt's Islamist president says it's backing the army chief's call for mass demonstrations on Friday.
The group Tamarod, or Rebel in Arabic, urged Egyptians to take to the streets across the nation in support of army chief Gen Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, who ousted President Mohammed Morsi on July 3.
Tamarod spokesman, Mahmoud Badr, says "whoever wants to genuinely complete the revolution must be out in the squares and in all the provinces."
El-Sissy called for a massive turnout this Friday, saying that would be a mandate for him to deal with "violence and terrorism" by Morsi's supporters.

His call raised the specter of a possible crackdown against Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood and its followers.
