The police on the night rounds yesterday stopped a mini-lorry with Rajasthan registration at Seelanaickenpatti near Salem and noticed three persons hiding in it.
Seeing the police, the trio jumped out of the vehicle and tried to escape.
However, the policemen chased and nabbed them and recovered some tools, including iron rods, and also Rs 90,000 from the lorry.
Meanwhile, police stopped another lorry, with Maharashtra registration near Namakkal, some 60 KMs from Salem, in the early hours today and nabbed five persons from it.
Recently, two ATMs were broken in the city and about Rs 30 lakh looted from them, for which seven police team were formed to nab the culprits.
All the eight, hailing from Haryana, were brought here for questioning, police said.
