Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Vipul Goel today said that concerted efforts have paved the way for providing new employment opportunities to about 1,700 youth in the state who have passed fireman, and first and second class boiler attendant courses.
Goel in a release said the Board which conducted technical examination and viva voce of fireman, boiler attendant, first class and second class, was constituted after every three years.
"But for the last 14 years, the board was not constituted as a result of which the technical examination had not been conducted. Thus thousands of youth of the state remained unemployed and many had been awaiting promotions," he claimed.
He said the board has now been constituted and the technical examination and viva voce of boiler attendant first class and second class were conducted from October to November this year.
He said 1,458 applicants had appeared in technical examination for boiler attendant second class of which 1,158 had passed. Similarly, 1,084 applicants had appeared in technical examination for boiler attendant first class of which 549 had passed.
The minister after passing the technical examination, boiler attendant second class can work at boiler up to 200 square meter heating surface area anywhere in the country. Similarly, boiler attendant first class can work at boiler up to 1,000 square metre heating surface area.
