Elderly couple found charred to death

An elderly couple was found charred to death under suspicious circumstances at a village in Krishna district in the early hours today, police said.
Sobhanachalam (65) and his Manikyamma (58) were found burnt alive in a room at their residence in Pothireddypalli village of the district, Nuzvid rural police inspector G Subba Raju said.
The couple's son, Yedukondalu (35), was also found with severe burn injuries, he said.
A case has been registered and investigation is on, he said.
However, some relatives and neighbours of the deceased couple told mediapersons that they suspected Yedukondalu set his parents on fire as he allegedly harboured a grudge against them for refusing to give their property to him.

Meanwhile, the couple's son has been admitted to Nuzvid Government Hospital, police added.
