Elderly man beaten to death, eyes gouged out

An elderly man was brutally beaten to death by three persons who gouged out his eyes before dumping his body near a drain here, police said today.
A case of murder have been registered against the three and a manhunt has been launched to arrest them, Circle Officer (city) Nitesh Singh said.
"Santram Gautam (65) was attacked by three persons last evening. He was mercilessly beaten, and his body was lying near a drain. His eyes were gouged out," he said.
The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem, the circle officer said.
