Elderly man shot at, accused absconding

An elderly man was shot at and injured, allegedly by his son-in-law over a petty domestic issue, at Medininagar in Palamau district of Jharkhand, police said.
Sambhu Soni was shot at and injured when he was on his way to open his eatery near Girwar High School, allegedly by son-in-law Laxmi Soni, Deputy Superintendent of Police Prabhat Ranjan Burwar said.
He said Sambhu suffered bullet injury in the thigh and was rushed to Sadar Hospital, where he was admitted.
Prima facie it was known that Laxmi used to frequently beat his brother-in-law, who was living with him, on petty excuses, which Sambhu opposed, the DSP said.
Laxmi was asbconding.
