"I told my DCP (Balanagar Zone) to conduct an enquiry and submit a report to me. Based on that we will take a decision. As per the TV footage, the IRS official is alleged to have manhandled a woman over some matter and provoked her to attempt suicide," Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dwarka Tirumala Rao told PTI tonight.
The TV footage claimed that "the woman was being allegedly hit by the IRS official in the presence of a Police Inspector attached to Balanagar police station, the top cop said.
According to the TV footage, the woman, a government employee allegedly wrote a note and attempted suicide accusing the Indian Revenue Service official of harassing her and her family members besides demanding Rs 25 lakh in cash and even to marry her.
However, the IRS official, who was said to have spoken to the news channel denied all the allegations and termed the woman as a "blackmailer" and claimed that he had sold a piece of land to the woman's family and they owed him money.
