A case of cheating was filed against former Haryana minister Mange Ram Gupta for allegedly getting double allotment of reserved plots of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) in violation of rules.
The policy allows for allotment of only one plot or flat either in the name of the allottee or his or her immediate family member.
Gupta had bought three plots in Faridabad, Panchkula and Jind under MLA quota, an estate officer stated in a police complaint filed at Civil Line police station here.
A case of cheating has been filed against the former minister, Sub Inspector Suraj Bhan said, adding police is investigating the matter.
