Fredrick Kharmawphlang, who served as a self styled organizing and political secretary of the outfit since his joining the outfit surrendered today afternoon at the police headquarter, Inspector General of Police (Operations) G H P Raju told PTI.
He said the young man crossed over the International border yesterday evening before he made up his mind to surrender.
Kharmawphlang appeared very weak and will be lodged as a surrenderee at the Mawiong camp of the state police for completion of all formal procedures, the officer said.
Raju said the former KSU leader stayed in Putisara, a Khasi-inhabited village in Bangladesh, bordering India.
He was accompanied by his parents and few leaders of the KSU during surrender.
