A former Odisha Ranji team captain was booked for alleged rash driving after his car hit several vehicles on the Ring Road here, the police said today.
At least one person was injured before his car was stopped by angry people at Chahata Ghat here last evening, police said.
The police have identified the driver as cricketer Haladhar Das, who represented Odisha in the Ranji championship between 2006 and 2009 and captaining the state team in 2008.
Das was not immediately available for comment.
The police have registered a case against Das for rash driving when an injured person, Krishna Jena, lodged a written complaint against the cricketer.
The police said the cricketer was questioned at Bidanasi police station. "His car was found damaged at both front and rear sides. The wind shield was also smashed", they said adding that they were yet to ascertain whether the car was damaged due to the accidents.
