The deceased, who received bullet injuries in the chest, was identified as Jaswinder Singh (40), a resident of village Ahema close to Ambala city, police said.
Jaswinder was alone in the house when the incident took place. His wife had gone to her parent's house.
The incident came to light when the milk man came to his house for supplying milk and did not get any response after knocking the door.
He peeped through the window and noticed that Jaswinder was lying in the pool of blood. He then raised an alarm and police was called in.
Police suspect it to be a case of accidental firing.
