The 10-day residential workshop for madarsa teachers saw participation of 24 selected teachers from across the country. They were given training to enhance English teaching skills.
"The participants will carry the benefits of training to their local communities so that they can get access to economic as well as academic opportunity," said Diane Millar, in-charge of Regional English Language Office (RELO) of US Embassy in New Delhi, at the valedictory function.
He said education must be promoted in minority communities and special attention should be paid to girls' education to reap full benefits of development.
The workshop, supported by RELO, was a joint collaboration of Jodhpur-based Marwar Muslim Education and Welfare Society and Delhi-based Taraqqi-i- Foundation.
