Explosion in abandoned house, 2 injured

Two girls were injured when an explosion took place at an abandoned house at Iswarbagh under Chinsura police station of Hooghly district this evening, the police said.
The clay tiled roof and a brick wall of the house were damaged in the explosion.
14-year-old Tumpa Khatun and 22-year-old Golapi Roy, who were walking beside the house at the time of the blast, were injured and hospitalised, police said.
Carbide can kept inside the house could have been the cause of the explosion, the police suspected.
Two brothers, Rahim Bux and Ibrahim Bux, have been fighting over the ownership of the house, the police said adding the two were detained.
