Explosives seized; two fishermen arrested today

Two fishermen were today arrested for allegedly trying to use explosives for fishing in the Cauvery river, near Pallipalayam.
Police questioned the two fishermen when they were found moving about suspiciously, police said.
They told police that they were in possession of explosive materials besides confessing that they had stolen electric detonators and carbon slurry from a borewell rig for fishing, police said.
They were arrested under the Explosives Act and remanded to judicial custody today.
