Bureau owner Trilok arranged marriages of men from Kota and adjoining areas with women hailing from Bihar, Jharkhand and some other states, police said, adding that after some time the newly-wed brides used to flee with valuables and cash.

According to police, the amount was later divided among the girls and the marriage bureau owner.

When some clients complained to Trilok about the issue, he threatened to get them arrested under false dowry charges, they added.

Few victims informed police about the issue, following which the arrests were made.
