The five accused were arrested for allegedly printing fake Rs 2,000 currency notes at a milk parlour here and circulating them, an official of Katargam police station said.
"Initially, one of the accused was arrested when 10 pieces of fake Rs 2,000 notes were recovered from him. His interrogation led them to a milk parlour, where fake notes were being printed with the use of three colour printers. Four others were arrested from there," he said.
Meanwhile, in Ahmedabad, police seized 69 pieces of A-4 size papers with the prints of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 notes on them. The printed papers were seized from a goods train transporting coal to a power station located in Sabarmati police station limit. However, no arrest was made in this connection.
