Farmer's family questions suicide theory

The family of Rajasthan farmer Gajendra Singh today questioned the suicide theory saying he could have been provoked into taking the extreme step.
Blaming Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the death, they said that Singh had gone to Jantar Mantar at the invitation of deputy chief minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia.
Gajendra's brother Vijendra and daughter Megha said he was not one who would commit suicide and the handwriting in the purported suicide note was not his and demanded a probe into it.
"I don't know whether this step was an accident or a suicide. Whoever was present there, they wasted precious time in a very irresponsible manner and did not take the matter seriously," Vijendra said.

"That is definitely not my father's handwriting. He was not ready to take any such step. I hold AAP responsible for this. The speeches were still going on when my father was trying to hang himself," Megha said.
Gajendra's sister said Kejriwal was responsible for the death.

Questioning the suicide theory, Vijendra suggested his brother could have been provoked.
He said Gajendra was in touch with Sisodia and had even met him after the poll victory in February this year.
"When I spoke to him he said he was in Delhi and was going to a rally organised by the Aam Aadmi Party. He called later and asked whether I was watching the news. He said 'I am on TV...In the rally'. Since electricity was not there I could not watch it.

"Whether he was called by Manish Sisoida or anyone...This information has gone with him. They would know. When I asked him on why was he going to the rally since there is a wedding in our house, he said, 'I have spoken to Manish ji and I am going to the rally. I will raise whatever the issues (related to) farmers are'," Vijendra said.
