The accused, Narayan Jat (45), was arrested after he confessed to strangulating his daughter, Nandani, a senior police officer of Raisinghnagar police said.
The deceased wanted to marry the youth who belonged to another community and was pressurising her parents for the same, the officer said.
The incident took place at about 7 AM when the accused's wife and son were also present in the house, he said.
