Farmers' leader Sharad Joshi passes away

Eminent farmers' leader and founder of 'Shetkari Sanghatana' Sharad Joshi died of old age here today.
He was 81.
Joshi floated Shetkari Sanghatana in 1979 to fight for farmers' cause and hogged limelight with an agitation of onion growers in 1980 to demand remunerative prices for the produce.
He was also member of Rajya Sabha from 2004-10.
Joshi is survived by two daughters settled abroad.
