File chargesheet in molestation cases within 24 hrs: DGP

In its bid to improve conviction rate in cases related to crime against women, Maharashtra Director General of Police Pravin Dixit today issued directives that chargesheet in molestation cases be filed in courts within 24 hours.
Dixit, told PTI, directives have been given to ensure that as far as possible chargesheet in molestation cases be filed within 24 hours.
"This will hopefully lead to improving conviction rate in cases related to crime against women," he said.
He said all Units in-charge are sensitizing the officials and staff regarding registration of molestation cases and filing of chargesheet.
