The schedule for Amarnath Yatra is decided by SASB and the state government is merely responsible to facilitate the pilgrimage, Health and Horticulture Minister Sham Lal Sharma said.
On Vishwa Hindu Parishad's proposed move to start the yatra from June 3, Sharma said the weather conditions were not conducive for the pilgrimage right now.
"It is not just the matter of Yatra dates but we also have to be also concerned about safeguard and well being of pilgrims," he said.
The minister said the state government is working on a "comprehensive plan" along with SASB for a hassle free yatra.
