Madhukar Pisal allegedly took over the flat left behind by the husband of the complainant Rita Pisal by making false declarations before the revenue department over its ownership and late sold it off to a third party, said Assistant Inspector Rajendra Landge of Thane Nagar police station.
The complainant is a resident of Anjar in Kutch district of Gujarat and the disputed flat is located in Deepanjali Building at Charai here.
An FIR was filed yesterday against Madhukar Pisal under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for cheating, Landge said.
The API said that the accused got the affidavit approved in the office of local Tehsildar and got the property transferred in his name before selling it off to a third party during 2010 and 2013.
