At a meeting of officials from Fire and Emergency Services, Public Works and Department of Personnel and Administrative reforms, Fire Force DGP Om Prakash reviewed the existing fire fighting measures in a 'multi-storey building' that houses several government offices.
An official release said it was decided that a separate generator should be installed for operating pumps of the fire fighting system and impart training to occupants in fire prevention and fire fighting.
The meeting decided to upgrade the fire fighting gadgets including installation of the smoke detection system in each floor.
Removal of all unrepairable furniture and old files from the building was the other measure decided at the meeting, the release said.
Besides accommodating hundreds of government employees, the office complex attracts thousands of visitors daily.
