The clinics were conducted across India to teach the promoters, trainers and boxers nuances of professional boxing and the various processes involved, Brig (retd) P K Muralidharan Raja, President, IBC, said in a release today.
Stating that IBC was launched on July 8 to promote and govern the sport of professional boxing in India, Raja, who was secretary general of Indian Amateur Boxing Federation from 2004 to 2012, claimed that IBC had given Beijing Olympics bronze medallist Vijender Singh its first Pro Boxing license on July 14 at Delhi.
He requested all interested promoters, trainers and boxers from south zone, who are keen to be part of India's professional boxing fraternity to avail the opportunity.
FCC for Pro Boxing (south zone) will be conducted at Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam soon, Raja said.
