First swine flu death of the year in Chandigarh

Chandigarh has reported the first swine flu death of the year with a 35-year-old man succumbing to the H1N1 virus at a hospital.
Jaswant, a resident of Karnal in Haryana, was admitted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) here in a critical condition on Saturday and died yesterday, officials said.
They said that this was the first death in the city due to swine flu.
A PGIMER official said that one of its doctor too had tested positive for swine flu, but now his condition was stable.
